Future investments

Normandy continues to attract global investors, drawn by its strategic location, skilled workforce, and abundant resources. Recent and anticipated investments include:

  • Murata: The Japanese group specialises in miniaturised electronic components. It will invest €60 million in its Caen factory to increase production capacity and renovate buildings.
  • DHL Express: this German company has invested €9 million to open a new site in Normandy. Three times larger than its predecessor, the site can sort 4,300 parcels and envelopes per hour.
  • DS Smith: London-based DS Smith – a global leader in sustainable fibre-based packaging – is investing €90 million in its Rouen paper mill. The aim is to reduce CO2 emissions.
  • Futerro: this Belgian company is investing more than €500 million in the construction of a bioplastics plant in Port-Jérôme-sur-Mer, creating hundreds of jobs. This will be Futerro’s second PLA plant, following its first in China (2021).

The top 5 includes two prominent agricultural companies, highlighting Normandy’s strong position in the agricultural sector. In 2023, approximately ten agribusiness companies invested in the region, further reinforcing its reputation as a hub for agricultural innovation and development.
