Verescence continues its industrial and environmental transformation within Normandy

A global leader in luxury glass packaging for the perfume and cosmetics industry, Verescence continues to advance its growth ambitions and industrial transformation strategy. In Normandy, where the group operates its finishing facility at Écouché-les-Vallées (Orne, this momentum has translated into significant investments aimed at strengthening production competitiveness, supporting recruitment and accelerating the company’s environmental transition.

In 2023, Verescence announced a €7 million investment programme over three years for its Orne site, designed to increase production capacity and automate selected operations.

This modernisation forms part of a broader strategy to support the group’s growth while reinforcing the industrial excellence of its French facilities. Employing around 250 people, the Écouché-les-Vallées site recruited 15 new employees in 2023 and plans to hire approximately ten additional staff members each year over five years.

Verescence: a global luxury leader committed to transformation

Alongside its industrial performance, Verescence is also accelerating its environmental roadmap. In March 2025, the company obtained validation for its updated climate targets from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), the internationally recognised benchmark for corporate decarbonisation. The group has committed to reducing its direct greenhouse gas emissions (Scopes 1 and 2) by 63.7% by 2034 compared with 2019 levels, while also cutting selected supply chain emissions by 37.5%. To achieve these objectives, Verescence plans to progressively electrify a wide range of industrial processes across its production sites. As part of this strategy, Verescence secured €5 million in funding from the Just Transition Fund (JTF) in 2025 for its industrial project at the Mers-les-Bains / Le Tréport site in the Bresle Valley. The funding is primarily intended to support the decarbonisation of glass manufacturing through the hybridisation of furnaces powered by electricity and biogas. This innovative technology will enable up to 80% of the fossil fuels currently used in production to be replaced with electricity, while maintaining the stringent quality standards required by the luxury sector. The project is also expected to support job creation and strengthen the long-term competitiveness of the local glassmaking industry.
