Cosmetic Valley: Set-up in Normandy since 2005, our region is a key region for the Cosmetic Valley hub – the world-leading network for perfume and cosmetics, in terms of its industrial base, its research ecosystem in cosmetology, and with its training provision.

Glass Valley: The world-leading luxury bottle maker, bringing together some 60 companies, with between 7 500 and 10 000 specialist employees. It produces more than 70% of the world’s production of glass bottles for the perfume, alcohol, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and para-pharmaceutical sectors.

A world-class ecosystem for research and innova-tion

I2C (the Carnot Institution): 8 research centres ded-icated to innovation in the fields of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, as well as Cosmetomics@Normandie, a large range of innovative tools providing answers concerning the security and safety of cosmetic prod-ucts;
The COBRA Laboratory. A ‘mixed research’ unit, bringing together the French national research or-ganisation (CNRS), the University of Rouen and the Rouen school of the French National Institute for Ap-plied Sciences (INSA), with a specialisation in organic synthesis and analytical chemistry.

A multitude of partnerships between the public and private spheres:

The universities of Caen, Rouen and Le Havre: professional degrees with specialisms in cosmet-ic formulation/Master’s degrees in Chemistry with specialisms in aromas, perfumes and cos-metics;
A technical centre dedicated to the agri-food and cosmetics industries (PRAXENS);
Regional Centres of Innovation and Technology Transfers (CRITT);
NEOMA Business School, a business and man-agement school in Rouen;

A strategic region for logistics:

The Seine Valley and the Port of Le Havre: Transit hub for the majority of the 80% of cosmetic products made in France and destined for ex-port around the world;
Collaborative project LIPACO-SEINE of Cosmetic Valley: guiding the digital transformation of the supply chain to improve perfor-mance, agility and maturity.

National level events:

Cosmectif 360: the international in-novation salon for the perfume and cosmetics sector held at the ‘Car-rousel du Louvre’ in Paris, with a specific Normandy pavilion;
Congress: The “Cosmetic Environ-ment and Safety” congress for the promotion of innovations with posi-tive and sustainable impacts (re-duce, reuse, recycle).
